Not a great week (again!) in terms of our picks – but we’re trying again this week (plus letting you know where all the teams are playing)

We’re now up to Round Three of the Competition, with a couple of teams making our preeseason rankings look particularly bad! (St. Andrew’s College in the Thomson trophy is looking disappointing at 0-2, when they were ranked #2, but the StAC Whelan team is now 3-0 after being picked #7!). We incorrectly picked two games in every competition, except for Division II in the McDonald’s Whelan Trophy Competition.

St. Andrew’s College got their third win of the season over St. Margaret’s last night (60-40 – retaining the Phil Burns Cup), and Rangi Ruru vs Christchurch Girls’ is deferred, with the rest of the Round Three games taking place tonight.

This Tuesday (21 May) we have a few schools hosting double headers with both Whelan and Thomson teams in action (5:15pm and 7:00pm respectively, unless noted otherwise):

Cashmere High vs Papanui Girls, then the boys will play against Christ’s College in a game between two 2-0 teams (Dowson Cup Challenge)
Hornby High will host games in their new gym between both teams from Riccarton High
Lincoln High School has Villa Maria, and then Rangiora New Life visiting
Rangiora High School has a tough ask with the St. Andrew’s boys, and then Middleton Grange Gators visiting (Whelan Game of the Week)
